Gateway Distriparks connects ICDs to Kandla Port, enhancing its Western region service network.
Gateway Distriparks has introduced a new container train service connecting five Inland Container Depots (ICDs) to Kandla Port. The expansion, announced on December 2, 2024, integrates ICDs in Gurgaon, Faridabad, Ahmedabad, Ludhiana, and Kashipur with the Western region port, strengthening the company’s service network.
Kandla now joins Mundra, Pipavav, and Nhava Sheva as key ports serviced by Gateway Distriparks in the region. The company will deploy double-stack container trains to strategic hubs like Viramgam, Garhi, and Faridabad, leveraging its existing infrastructure to optimise operations. Containers from Ludhiana and Kashipur will be routed via its network hubs.
Prem Kishan Dass Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director, highlighted that the expansion required no additional capital investment, utilising the existing fleet efficiently. With 10 terminals, 34 trainsets, and over 560 trailers nationwide, Gateway Distriparks continues to provide integrated logistics solutions, including warehousing, transportation, and container handling for the export-import sector.
