DP World enhances rail terminal in Haryana, increasing freight capacity by 25 percent to support sustainable logistics growth.
DP World has expanded its rail terminal at Pali-Rewari, Haryana, by commissioning a third line, increasing its monthly freight train handling capacity by 25 percent. This development is part of DP World’s ongoing efforts to bolster containerised rail cargo movement in North India, according to an official statement.
With investments exceeding ₹1,800 crore in rail infrastructure, the company operates seven rail and inland terminals across key industrial regions, ensuring comprehensive connectivity. Its network includes facilities in Modinagar, Panipat, Hazira, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, and more, enabling seamless market access for traders.
Adhendru Jain, Vice President, Rail and Inland Terminals, highlighted DP World’s commitment to sustainable logistics, noting that rail transport reduces carbon emissions by 65 percent compared to road transport. The terminal upgrade aligns with the company’s strategy to promote multimodal solutions, including the use of double-stack trains for efficient cargo movement.
