Amazon and India Post sign MoU to boost e-commerce logistics across India using DoP’s vast network.
In a significant move to enhance e-commerce logistics in India, Amazon and the Department of Posts (DoP) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to deepen their collaboration. The agreement was signed in New Delhi by Kushal Vashist, General Manager of Parcel Directorate at DoP, and Venkatesh Tiwari, Director of Operations at Amazon Seller Services. Senior officials from both organisations, including Vandita Kaul, Secretary (Posts), and Aman Jain, Director of Public Policy at Amazon, witnessed the event.
The partnership, which dates back to 2013, aims to leverage India Post’s extensive network of over 1.6 lakh post offices to streamline Amazon’s parcel delivery operations. The MoU focuses on synchronising logistics, sharing knowledge, and scaling business operations.
With regular reviews to monitor progress, the collaboration will allow Amazon to expand its reach to remote regions, while DoP benefits from increased parcel volumes and enhanced expertise in e-commerce logistics. This partnership supports India’s vision of becoming a global logistics hub.
