The Government of India briefed media on West Asia developments, covering fuel supply, maritime operations, and support for Indian nationals. Authorities assured uninterrupted availability of LPG, PNG, and CNG, with priority supply to critical sectors and increased allocation for migrant workers.

The Government of India held a high‑level briefing at the National Media Centre as part of its ongoing efforts to keep the media apprised of developments in West Asia. Senior officials from the Ministries of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Ports, Shipping and Waterways, External Affairs, and Rural Development shared updates on fuel availability, maritime operations, support measures for Indian nationals in the region, and steps being taken to safeguard stability across key sectors.
The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas reiterated that all necessary measures are being undertaken to ensure uninterrupted supply of petroleum products and LPG across the country, even amid the evolving situation around the Strait of Hormuz. The Government confirmed that there is 100% supply of domestic LPG, domestic PNG and CNG (transport), with no further disruptions reported in these essential categories.
In the commercial segment, priority has been accorded to critical sectors such as hospitals, educational institutions, pharmaceutical units, steel plants, the automobile industry, seed and agriculture units, and other essential services. In addition, the allocation of 5 kg FTL to migrant labour has been doubled, based on the average daily supply delivered on 2 and 3 March 2026, to enhance access for vulnerable groups.
The Government has also issued a public advisory urging citizens not to engage in panic purchases of petrol, diesel or LPG, emphasising that adequate stocks and robust supply mechanisms are in place. Citizens have been advised to ignore unverified rumours and instead rely on official channels for accurate and timely information.
