CMA CGM has added a Hazira port call to its BIGEX-2 service, enhancing India-Gulf logistics and supply chain connectivity.

Global shipping leader CMA CGM has successfully marked the maiden call of its BIGEX-2 service at Hazira Port, a move designed to significantly strengthen the logistics supply chains between India and the Middle East Gulf.
The addition of Hazira to the BIGEX-2 (India Gulf Red Sea Express) rotation is a strategic expansion aimed at supporting the industrial heartland of South Gujarat, including the chemical, petrochemical, and manufacturing sectors. By providing a direct maritime link, the service is expected to reduce transit times and lower inland logistics costs for regional exporters.
The revised rotation now includes Nhava Sheva, Hazira, Mundra, Jebel Ali, Khalifa, Salalah, Jeddah, Djibouti, and Berbera. The first call was made by the vessel M/V ZHU CHENG XIN ZHOU.
Atit Mahajan, Managing Director of CMA CGM India, stated that the new port call demonstrates the Group’s commitment to India’s role as a vital engine of global trade. This expansion bolsters the Group’s existing network of 19 weekly maritime services in India, where it has operated for over 34 years. The integration of Hazira into this global supply chain follows recent investments by CMA CGM in national port infrastructure and local shipbuilding initiatives.
