Concord boosts its stake in Progota to 46.5%, driving the nationwide rollout of Kavach 4.0 and advancing rail safety in India.

In a major push towards rail safety and modernisation, Concord Control Systems Limited has announced an increase in its stake to 46.5% in Progota India, aiming to accelerate the indigenous development and deployment of Kavach Automatic Train Protection (ATP) systems across India.
The move comes under the government’s Atmanirbhar Bharat vision, aligning with India’s ambitious rail modernisation agenda. Kavach 4.0, India’s flagship ATP solution, is engineered to prevent train collisions, regulate speeds, and ensure signal compliance, strengthening both passenger and freight safety.
“This strategic partnership with Progota enables us to drive safer, smarter, and zero-emission rail transport for India,” said Gaurav Lath, Joint Managing Director of Concord. He added that the collaboration positions the companies as key contributors to a sector projected to generate ₹13–15 billion in annual Kavach sales between FY26 and FY28, with the global ATP market expected to exceed $15 billion by 2025.
Founded in 2021, Progota is a specialist in railway automation and Kavach ATP systems, with a rapidly growing order book from key railway zones. The partnership will combine Concord’s manufacturing and system integration strengths with Progota’s R&D capabilities, enabling faster deployment and scaling.
Indian Railways plans to equip 10,000 locomotives and cover 34,000 route kilometres with Kavach technology over the next six years, one of the world’s largest ATP rollouts.
This strengthened collaboration firmly positions Concord and Progota at the forefront of India’s rail safety revolution, supporting the Make in India mission and creating new opportunities in transport technology and logistics efficiency.
