Worldwide Flight Services completes Menzies cargo handling acquisition at Amsterdam Schiphol, boosting capacity and service expansion.
Worldwide Flight Services Holland B.V. (WFS) has finalised the acquisition of Menzies World Cargo (Amsterdam) B.V., enhancing its general cargo handling operations at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.
The acquisition, originally signed in August 2024, was completed on January 31, 2025, following regulatory approvals and local works council consultations. With this expansion, WFS’ warehouse capacity at Schiphol now exceeds 50,000 square meters, strengthening its ability to serve over 120 airlines and freight forwarders.
This move aligns with WFS’ long-term commitment to Schiphol’s cargo sector, ensuring enhanced service levels and future growth potential. John Batten, CEO for EMEAA at WFS, emphasised that the integration of Menzies employees into WFS will reinforce its position as a key player in Europe’s air cargo industry. The acquisition marks a milestone in WFS’ 20-year presence at Schiphol, reaffirming its role in advancing cargo operations at one of Europe’s premier air freight hubs.
