New Alliance Air flights connect Imphal to Kolkata, Guwahati, and Dimapur, enhancing Manipur’s growth and opportunities.

Union Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu, alongside Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh, flagged off new Alliance Air flights from Imphal to Kolkata, Guwahati, and Dimapur. The initiative, part of the Ministry of Civil Aviation’s collaboration with the Manipur Government, operates under Viability Gap Funding support.
The new routes aim to enhance regional connectivity, fostering investment and ease of business. The minister emphasised the initiative’s alignment with the ‘Act East, Act Fast, Act First’ vision to boost North East development. He highlighted the benefits of the three Ts—Trade, Travel, and Tourism—bringing Economy, Employment, and Empowerment to Manipur.Biren Singh thanked the Union Government for prioritising air connectivity in Manipur, noting the convenience offered by multiple flight timings. Since UDAN’s launch, the region now boasts 10 airports and 90 RCS routes, marking significant progress in infrastructure development.
