To increase the speed of export consignment clearances, the customs network of India is being integrated with a number of regulatory organisations. According to the report, the special economic zones (SEZs) may also receive a paperless compliance framework, according to the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC).
For import approval, India already has a single-window system. “The single window on the import side is one that you are accustomed to. “For exports, we are attempting to implement a similar system,” said CBIC chairman, Vivek Johri.
Several export shipments must be examined by numerous regulatory organisations, including drug controllers and others. These are all going to be incorporated into the new customs system. “We are working to connect ICEGATE Customs with these organisations. This will expedite the release of export shipments even more. ” Johri made this statement during a meeting hosted by the trade group, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
The average time for consignments or cargo to be released from ports and airports has, however, recently been cut in half. Soon, exports may also begin to be registered online.
