Jindal Stainless partners with CJ Darcl Logistics to create lightweight, sustainable containers.
Jindal Stainless has entered a strategic partnership with CJ Darcl Logistics to develop eco-friendly stainless steel containers for diverse cargo, including polymers, batteries, and rubber. The company is supplying 2.2 metric tonnes of JT stainless steel per container, replacing the conventional carbon steel used in the sidewalls, end walls, and roof.
This shift has resulted in a significant weight reduction of around 500 kilograms per container, increasing cargo capacity, enhancing fuel efficiency, and lowering operational costs. Furthermore, the JT grade stainless steel offers superior impact and fire resistance, extending the container’s lifespan with minimal maintenance.
Abhyuday Jindal, Managing Director of Jindal Stainless, highlighted that this partnership reflects the need for sustainable logistics solutions in India’s growing economy. The non-reactive properties of stainless steel also ensure zero contamination during transport, marking a significant step towards greener and more efficient logistics.
