India is maintaining full supplies of petroleum, LPG, PNG, and CNG amid West Asia tensions, ramping up domestic refinery output and alternate fuels like kerosene and coal.

As geopolitical tensions continue to strain energy corridors in West Asia, the Indian government stays actively engaged in ensuring a coordinated response with respect to domestic fuel availability and support to every Indian national.
With the Strait of Hormuz remaining a pressure point for global energy trade, authorities have confirmed that petroleum products, Domestic LPG, Domestic PNG, and CNG (Transport) supplies are being maintained at full capacity. To reduce dependence on imports, domestic refinery output of LPG has been significantly ramped up, while alternate fuels including kerosene and coal have been made available to ease pressure on the supply chain.
On the demand side, the government has revised LPG booking intervals, extending them from 21 to 25 days in urban areas and up to 45 days in rural regions. Supply of smaller LPG cylinders to migrant labour has been doubled. Commercial LPG distribution is being prioritised for essential institutions, including hospitals, educational establishments, and key industries such as pharmaceuticals, steel, agriculture, and automobiles.
Citizens have been urged to refrain from panic purchases of petrol, diesel, and LPG, as authorities have assured adequate availability across the country. The public has also been encouraged to shift to PNG connections and electric or induction-based cooking alternatives wherever possible, and to practice energy conservation during this period.
For LPG consumers, digital booking platforms are the recommended channel, with authorities discouraging in-person visits to distributors. The public has been advised to rely solely on verified, official sources for information and to remain alert to misinformation.
