Govt focuses on smart cities, green highways, and multimodal transport for growth.

The government is committed to developing a sustainable, resilient, and future-ready infrastructure ecosystem, Commerce and Industry Minister Shri Piyush Goyal said during his virtual address at the second edition of Build India Infra Awards 2025 on February 24. He highlighted the ₹11.21 trillion allocation in the Budget 2025-26 for infrastructure, aiming to enhance mobility, create jobs, and boost economic opportunities.
Goyal emphasised that under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s leadership, the PM Gati Shakti initiative is streamlining multimodal transport, reducing logistics costs, and strengthening economic potential. He praised the Build India Infra Awards for recognising innovation and perseverance in transformative projects, from highways and railways to ports and airports.
Urging continued collaboration, the minister stressed that India’s infrastructure advancements will remain the foundation of its economic growth, driving progress and efficiency in the years ahead.
