Deendayal Port achieves record vessel handling, traffic volume, rice handling, and exports in December 2024.
Deendayal Port Authority (DPA), Kandla, has achieved significant milestones in December 2024, setting new records across multiple key performance indicators. These accomplishments underscore the port’s commitment to operational excellence and its vital role in India’s maritime sector.
Key achievements include:
- Highest-ever vessels handled in a month: DPA successfully handled 354 vessels in December 2024, surpassing the previous high of 327 vessels in October 2024.
- Highest traffic volume in a month: The port processed 13.03 million metric tons (MMT) of cargo, breaking the earlier record of 12.90 MMT set in March 2024.
- Highest rice handling in a month: DPA recorded 4,54,635 tonnes of rice handled in December, exceeding the previous high of 3,43,906 tonnes in November 2024.
- Highest export volume: The port exported a record 35,86,709 tonnes of cargo in December 2024, surpassing the previous record of 33,48,891 tonnes in April 2022.
Sushil Kumar Singh, IRSME, Chairman of DPA, commended the efforts of all stakeholders, including port users, trade unions, officials, employees, and workers. He emphasized that these achievements were made possible by the collective teamwork and dedication of all involved.
