Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) achieved significant growth in October 2023, handling 37 million metric tons (MMT) of total cargo, marking a 48 percent year-on-year increase. APSEZ is India’s largest integrated transport utility and a subsidiary of the diversified Adani Group.
The combined cargo volume across Adani’s ports in India surpassed the 35-MMT milestone, reaching 36 MMT for the first time in the company’s history. In October, the Haifa Port in Israel processed more than 1.1 MMT of cargo, slightly exceeding the average cargo volume of the previous six months.
For the initial seven months of the fiscal year 2023-24 (April-October 2023), APSEZ managed 240 MMT of total cargo, representing an 18 percent year-on-year growth. The company’s ports in India reported a 15 percent year-on-year volume increase during this period. In the same timeframe, three key cargo categories – dry bulk, liquids, and containers – recorded double-digit growth year on year.
