ColdStar Logistics has increased its workforce by 15% to manage festive-season demand across its cold chain network.

ColdStar Logistics, India’s leading temperature-controlled supply chain solutions provider, has increased its workforce by 15% to meet anticipated festive-led demand across its network. With demand expected to rise by 20 to 25 per cent over the next few months, the workforce increase is aimed at helping ColdStar maintain service and quality standards while storing, processing and moving goods at higher volumes.
The company has expanded its workforce to more than 4,500 people across its network of over 45 sites for the next three months. The additional workforce is intended to strengthen operational capacity across fulfilment and quality functions, as festive consumption rises across categories including gifting, sweets and confectionery, ready-to-eat foods, ice cream and healthy snacking.
Sameer Varma, Executive Director at ColdStar Logistics, said the festive season brought a significant rise in consumption across categories, making preparedness ahead of the demand peak critical for the logistics ecosystem. He said advance hiring allowed the company to strengthen staffing levels before volumes increased, rather than responding only after demand rose, adding that with quick commerce and e-commerce demand expected to rise during the festive months, the expanded workforce would help maintain hygiene, quality and service standards without compromising the supply chain.
As part of the festive workforce ramp-up, ColdStar is providing structured training for additional staff, with a specific focus on hygiene and quality norms central to its service operations. The company has also introduced industry-leading incentive schemes to support and retain its seasonal workforce during the period.
The festive hiring programme forms part of ColdStar’s broader focus on building a scalable workforce to support the growth of temperature-controlled logistics in India. The company’s workforce has grown significantly, from 427 employees in FY22 to 3,111 in FY25, in tandem with the expansion of its distribution network and increasing demand from quick commerce and e-commerce platforms.
