Ministry outlines sustainability and export priorities.

The Ministry of Textiles has concluded Textiles Summit 2026 with a focus on strengthening exports, sustainability and state-led textile development. The summit brought together state governments, Export Promotion Councils, industry stakeholders and other participants to discuss district and state action plans, market opportunities and measures to improve the sector’s global competitiveness.
At the concluding session, Union Textiles Minister Shri Giriraj Singh called for faster implementation of district and state-level plans with greater focus on product-market fit, value addition, sustainability compliance, Free Trade Agreement utilisation and niche products. Textiles Secretary Smt Neelam Shami Rao said the recommendations received during the summit would be consolidated into a National Textile Export Roadmap aimed at strengthening quality, innovation, sustainability and high-value textile exports.
