SAEL Industries to invest ₹22,000 crore in solar, BESS, biomass, data centres and ports, boosting jobs and infrastructure in Andhra Pradesh.

In a major boost to Andhra Pradesh’s clean-energy ecosystem and industrial infrastructure, SAEL Industries has unveiled plans to invest a massive ₹22,000 crore across multiple sectors, including solar power, battery storage, biomass-based generation, data centres, and port infrastructure. The investment will reportedly create over 70,000 employment opportunities statewide, according to Energetica India.
The agreement is expected to be formally signed during the CII Partnership Summit, taking place in Visakhapatnam on November 14–15, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) confirmed.
Under this proposal, SAEL intends to roll out seven large-scale solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects with a cumulative capacity of 1,750 MW across Kadapa and Kurnool districts. These installations are aimed at supplying round-the-clock renewable energy to industries and hyperscale data centre operations. The projects were awarded through auctions conducted by NHPC and the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI).
Strengthening its focus on rural value chains, SAEL will also commission a 200 MW biomass programme, featuring eight units of 25 MW each, designed to drive livelihood opportunities and improve utilisation of agricultural residues.
On the digital infrastructure front, the company has earmarked ₹3,000 crore for a state-of-the-art, hyperscale-ready data centre aligned with Andhra Pradesh’s expanding technology ecosystem. Additionally, a ₹4,000 crore investment has been allocated for port-linked development to boost maritime trade efficiency and export competitiveness.
The announcement builds on SAEL’s ongoing commitment to the state. The company has already invested ₹3,200 crore and commissioned 600 MW of renewable energy capacity within the past nine months, the official release stated.
With decarbonisation, industrialisation, and digital growth converging, this investment marks one of the state’s most significant green-energy pushes, setting the stage for a more resilient logistics and industrial network across Andhra Pradesh.
