Nike deepens its partnership with ONE to expand ONE LEAF+, achieving up to 84% lower maritime emissions.

In a powerful step toward sustainable global logistics, Ocean Network Express (ONE) has expanded its partnership with Nike through the ONE LEAF+ programme, a pioneering initiative aimed at significantly reducing carbon emissions from ocean freight.
ONE LEAF+ leverages biofuels certified by International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) to help customers cut their Scope 3 Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions by up to 84% compared to conventional Very Low Sulphur Fuel Oil (VLSFO). The service also provides independently verified emission reduction certificates, enabling Nike to transparently track and report its sustainability progress.
Gilberto Santos, Senior Vice President, Global Key Account Sales at ONE, said, “Our collaboration with Nike exemplifies how leading companies can work together to create more environmentally responsible supply chains. We are proud to offer Nike a solution to reduce carbon emissions from maritime transportation, aligning with their sustainability objectives and supporting their environmental goals.”
ONE has been a trusted logistics partner for Nike since 2018, providing critical ocean shipping services. In 2024, the partnership expanded to incorporate biofuel-powered voyages through ONE LEAF+, marking a decisive move toward low-carbon global supply chains.
The initiative replaces conventional fossil fuels with ISCC-certified biofuels, dramatically lowering emissions while maintaining service reliability. By transitioning from standard VLSFO to sustainable biofuels, Nike stands to reduce maritime emissions by up to 84%, setting a strong example for climate-conscious logistics.
This collaboration underlines the growing momentum in the shipping industry to decarbonise global trade through innovative fuel solutions and strategic partnerships.
