DB Schenker introduces Ocean Bridge, an AI-based tool offering full visibility and predictive data for ocean freight operations.
DB Schenker has unveiled Ocean Bridge, an AI-driven supply chain monitoring tool designed to offer complete visibility of ocean freight operations. The tool provides real-time insights into vessel, shipment, and container status, enhancing decision-making for freight shippers.
Ocean Bridge features an interactive map that tracks estimated times of departure, berthing, and arrival of vessels, along with detailed port rotations. Utilising telematics and AI, it delivers predictive scheduling, allowing users to plan more effectively and take preventive actions to avoid potential disruptions.
Thorsten Meincke, DB Schenker’s board member for air and ocean freight, emphasised the tool’s value in helping customers improve operational efficiency. By offering dynamic data and real-time updates, Ocean Bridge enables shippers to manage delays, avoid unnecessary costs, and optimise their supply chain performance amid global disruptions.
Eva Grieser, Director of Data Management at DB Schenker, highlighted that the tool’s predictive capabilities allow customers to minimise demurrage and detention costs by recalculating routes as needed.
