Hapag-Lloyd’s terminal division adopts new brand name to signify growth and heritage.
Hapag-Lloyd’s terminal and infrastructure division will adopt a new brand name, Hanseatic Global Terminals, effective July 1, 2024, signaling its growth ambitions and maritime heritage. Established as a fully-owned independent unit in June 2023, Hanseatic Global Terminals is based in Rotterdam and aims to enhance operational efficiency and sustainable growth globally.
Inspired by the historic Hanseatic League, the brand underscores a commitment to quality and expansive terminal operations. Dheeraj Bhatia, CEO and Executive Board member of Hapag-Lloyd, highlighted the rebranding’s support for quality, efficiency, and sustainability, promising improved services for customers and partners.
Hanseatic Global Terminals manages investments across 20 terminals in 11 countries, including key locations like Container Terminal Altenwerder (Germany), JadeWeserPort (Germany), Terminal TC3 (Morocco), and Terminal 2 (under construction in Egypt). The company also oversees terminals in the Americas and India, acquired from SAAM Terminals and J M Baxi Ports & Logistics, respectively, and holds a minority stake in the Spinelli Group.
