CharanSparsh Foundation’s inaugural Yuva Road Safety Summit 2024 spearheads a transformative movement for safer roads.
CharanSparsh Foundation’s maiden Yuva Road Safety Summit 2024 marked a pivotal moment in the quest for safer roads. With a theme centered on empowering communities for road safety, the event convened over 700 enthusiastic youths and 100 delegates, creating a dynamic platform for discourse and action.
CharanSparsh Foundation, a non-profit organization, focuses on social causes, road safety awareness, and promoting Indian artisans globally. Founded with a vision to engage youth in India’s cultural heritage, the foundation introduces digital programs to impart knowledge and foster responsibility. Led by Maya Thakur, Chairperson and DG of the Institution of Civil Engineers (India), CharanSparsh is committed to promoting Indian art, culture, and ensuring road and women’s safety through innovative initiatives like ‘Count Safety First’ (CSF).
Nitin Gadkari, Minister for Road Transport and Highways, emphasised the critical role of human behavior in road safety. Shashank Jaiswal, IPS, DCP, Delhi Police, emphasised collective responsibility, whereas, Maya Thakur, CharanSparsh Foundation Chairperson, integrated health checkups and cultural programs. Dr. S. L. Swamy, ICE (I) Chairman, advocated for educational reforms and civic responsibility.
Integral to this movement was the participation of Dr. Ankur Sharan, Management Trustee of the Global Confederation of NGOs, and collaborator with Road Safety Omni Foundation. Dr. Sharan’s commitment and collaboration underscored the importance of logistics in bolstering road safety initiatives. With a vision to revolutionise road safety, Dr. Sharan leverages his expertise in supply chain logistics to implement innovative solutions. Through the Global Confederation of NGOs, he seeks to bridge the gap between logistics infrastructure and road safety initiatives, promising a safer future for all road users.
The summit’s innovative initiatives, such as the “Jan ki Baat” podcast inaugurated by Nitin Gadkari, aimed to engage the public actively. With pledges from students, educators, and industry leaders, the summit heralded a collective resolve to transform roads into safer spaces.
