UP’s mega project transforms YEIDA into a multimodal hub, linking air, rail, and road to boost global trade links.

Uttar Pradesh is spearheading a massive infrastructure initiative to establish the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority region as the premier multimodal logistics centre in Northern India. At the heart of this transformation is the Noida International Airport, which serves as a pivotal gateway for global aviation and cargo.
The strategy focuses on an integrated five-mode transport network. This includes the eight-lane Yamuna Expressway for road transit, direct rail links to the Delhi-Mumbai and Delhi-Howrah corridors, and a rapid rail system connecting the capital and wider region to industrial sectors. Furthermore, connections to the Eastern Peripheral and Delhi-Mumbai expressways ensure seamless interstate movement.
To bolster high-tech manufacturing, the state is developing dedicated freight access roads to streamline heavy vehicle movement. Major global firms, including Havells India and Dixon Technologies, have already committed significant investments to the area.
By slashing logistics expenses and providing top-tier infrastructure, the government aims to generate hundreds of thousands of jobs. This project is a foundational element in the state’s plan to reach a one-trillion-dollar economy. The latest progress on these connectivity links was highlighted on 26 December 2025, cementing the region’s status as a critical destination for international trade.
