Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveils the Civil Aviation Research Organization (CARO) Centre in Hyderabad, emphasising its role in fostering aviation startups, research, and skill development for the region.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the launch of the pioneering Civil Aviation Research Organization (CARO) Centre in Hyderabad during his visit to Telangana. Strategically situated at Begumpet Airport, this first-of-its-kind aviation center in India is anticipated to be a catalyst for aviation startups, research endeavors, and skill development.
The Prime Minister highlighted the significance of CARO in creating employment opportunities for the youth within the aviation sector. In a statement, he acknowledged the aviation sector’s remarkable growth in India, with a doubling of airports over the past decade, generating new job opportunities. PM Modi expressed confidence that CARO would play a crucial role in further advancing the sector.
The Airports Authority of India has invested over ₹350 crore in establishing CARO, aiming to enhance Research and Development (R&D) activities in the civil aviation sector. This center is envisioned to serve as a global research platform, facilitating in-house and collaborative research to provide innovative solutions for the aviation community.
During the visit, PM Modi dedicated CARO to the nation and also inaugurated various development projects, including road, rail, petroleum, and natural gas initiatives, collectively worth ₹7,200 crore. These projects align with the government’s vision for Viksit Bharat, with modern infrastructure deemed essential for achieving this goal.
