Odisha inks deal with Gopalpur port for expansion

The state of Odisha has entered into an agreement with Gopalpur Port to facilitate the expansion of this port facility located in Ganjam district. Under this agreement, the state government has allocated over 119 acres of land to Gopalpur Port.

Gopalpur Port, managed by Gopalpur Ports under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model since 2006, aims to transform into an all-weather direct berthing port. Presently, the port features three berths spanning 800 meters in length, capable of accommodating multiple vessels and handling up to 20 million metric tons (MMT) of cargo annually.

This expansion initiative is expected to create numerous job opportunities for the local population, providing a significant boost to the regional economy.
