One of India’s major 3PL solution providers, Mahindra Logistics Ltd. (MLL), which entered the end-to-end services market last year for its B2C food business, has been able to forge a very strong foothold in the country. The company announced the opening of its newest fulfilment facility, the third in Hyderabad and the company’s eleventh nationwide. With technology as the backbone of its efficiency-boosting operations, the new fulfilment centre will notably facilitate rapid commerce in the supermarket sector.
Within a short period, MLL has established its operational capability across India with its end-to-end services of fulfilment centres, milk-run transportation, micro-fulfilment centres (dark stores) and last-mile delivery. The network that the company built for this segment is the best in class and is equipped to fulfil large volumes. These fulfilment centres are spread across 5 cities (Bangalore, Vizag, Vijayawada, Hyderabad, and Kolkata) and are currently serving more than 6 lakh units and 15000+ stores per day.
Rampraveen Swaminathan, managing director and CEO of Mahindra Logistics, commented on this development by saying, “We are growing our network to continuously widen our reach in response to shifting customer demand patterns. We are considering bringing our facilities to places where these services are not available because they are a rapidly expanding sector. We are committed to providing a consistent customer experience in the B2C market by offering specialised, technologically advanced solutions. Additionally, these operations coordinate last-mile logistics through ‘Whizzard,’ a brand we purchased in April of this year.
