Kia India aims to expand its CKD exports to the Middle East and Africa, targeting a 2030 goal of doubling export volumes.
Kia India has announced plans to boost its completely knocked down (CKD) vehicle exports, targeting growth in the Middle East and Africa. The automaker, which began CKD shipments from its Anantapur facility in Andhra Pradesh in June 2020, has already exported one lakh units. Kia India accounts for 50 percent of Kia Corporation’s global CKD exports, positioning it as a key hub for the South Korean company.
Joonsu Cho, Kia India’s Chief Sales Officer, expressed gratitude for India’s export-friendly policies, which have significantly strengthened the country’s position in the global automotive value chain. Looking ahead, the company aims to expand its footprint in markets like Uzbekistan, Ecuador, and Vietnam, with plans to export over 38,000 CKD units this year. By 2030, Kia India targets doubling its export volumes as part of its strategy to penetrate more international markets.
