Every person alive is continually going through the process of aging. Aging is a normal aspect of life and an unavoidable factor. However, this important segment of our society demands the highest care, love, and attention from their children and younger ones. The rise in nuclear families appears to have resulted in more insensitivity, neglect, and abuse of the elderly by their children. The Daksh Foundation, created in 2015 by a group of dedicated young enthusiasts, is working to eradicate the criminality that exists in our society.
In this effort, the organisation organised “Khayal Apne Buzoorgon Ka,” a ceremony to recognize older citizens for their social contributions to the nation. Dr. Pushpendra Pratap Singh is the Daksh Foundation’s Chief Advisory Board Member for Corporate Affairs and the Country Head of Asia Shipping International Transport Pvt Ltd. (a Brazilian Based company). He is an expert in shipping and logistics, a social entrepreneur, an anthropologist, a corporate strategist, and a business analyst. Dr. Singh was honoured with the Bharat Shree Award for “Outstanding Individual Achievements and Distinguished Service to the Nation.” He received the Bharat Gaurav Shri Samman Parishad’s Lifetime Achievement Award for “Outstanding Achievement and exceptional role in shipping and logistics,” which was acknowledged by the Government of India. To complement his varied persona, he was named “Icon of Asia-Acharya/Business Mentor of the Year” by the Indian CSR Awards on August 27, 2022, at the Hyatt Regency in Gurgaon, along with “Best Social Entrepreneur of the Year—2022.”
The event “Khayal Apne Buzoorgon Ka” was attended by Krishan Pal, Minister of State for Power and Heavy Industries, Government of India, as the Chief Guest. Jitender Yadav, IAS, is the personal secretary to the Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Youth Affairs, and Sports of the Government of India. Sushma Gupta, Vice Chairman of the Haryana Red Cross Society, and Sukriti, CJM cum secretary of the District Legal Service Authority in Faridabad, were honoured guests at the occasion.
Eleven prominent people were honoured with the “Lifetime Achievement Award” for their contributions to society. Mementos were also given to notable senior citizens. In his speech, Krishan Pal praised the Daksh Foundation for organizing such events and honouring the elderly, pledging his complete support.
Dr. Singh stated in their distinguished endeavor that humanity has come a long way as we change and adapt to the changing environment. He stressed the importance of major corporations participating and contributing to this noble cause of making this country a better place to live for our seniors. Let us make a commitment to care for our seniors and to join in more activities like “Khayal Apne Buzoorgon Ka.”
