Kale partners with Budapest Airport to deploy the Airport Cargo Community System, streamlining operations for increased efficiency and growth.
Kale Logistics Solutions (Kale) has announced a strategic collaboration with Budapest Airport (BUD) to introduce its Airport Cargo Community System (ACS). This partnership aims to revolutionize cargo operations by digitizing processes and enhancing efficiency at BUD.
Currently, disparate IT systems are used by cargo handlers and integrators for data management and transmission to the airport and relevant authorities. This fragmentation leads to duplicative data communications and missed opportunities for digitalization. Kale’s ACS solution is poised to address these challenges by offering improved visibility and transparency throughout the cargo supply chain.
József Kossuth, cargo director for BUD, expressed the airport’s ambition to establish itself as the primary cargo hub in Central and Eastern Europe. He highlighted BUD’s rapid growth in cargo volume, citing a record 48.5 percent increase in tonnage handled in 2023 compared to 2019. The introduction of ACS aligns with BUD’s development strategy, enhancing its hub capabilities.
Vineet Malhotra, co-founder and director of Kale Logistics Solutions, emphasised the significance of the partnership in optimising cargo operations and driving efficiency at BUD. He underscored the role of ACS in setting new standards for cargo handling and contributing to the airport’s success as a vital logistics hub in Europe.
The implementation of Kale’s ACS at Budapest Airport marks a significant milestone in the digital transformation of cargo operations. By streamlining processes and improving communication among stakeholders, the collaboration aims to propel BUD’s position as a leading player in the global air cargo industry.
