Jindal Stainless achieves a historic milestone as the first participant in Bhubaneswar’s direct air cargo operations, sending 28 kg of hot rolled stainless steel plate samples to Sweden.
In a groundbreaking moment, Jindal Stainless, India’s largest stainless steel producer, has etched its name in history by becoming the inaugural participant in the direct air cargo operations at Bhubaneswar’s Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA). The company, in a significant gesture, shipped 28 kg of hot rolled stainless steel plate samples to Sweden to mark the occasion.
Key dignitaries, including Hon’ble Minister of MSME Department Pratap Keshari Deb, Principal Secretary of MSME Department Saswat Mishra (IAS), and Principal Secretary of the Department of Commerce and Transport Usha Padhee (IAS), graced the flag-off ceremony, underlining the importance of this momentous development.
Abhyuday Jindal, the Managing Director of Jindal Stainless, expressed his excitement, highlighting the positive impact on Odisha’s export potential and the overall economic growth in the region. Emphasising the positive effects on local employment, he deemed the utilisation of Bhubaneswar airport’s air cargo capabilities a win-win situation.
With modern equipment in place, BPIA now has the capacity to handle approximately 1,000 metric tonnes of international freight annually, enabling direct shipments to various nations. This development marks a significant stride in enhancing the region’s connectivity and trade capabilities.
