Indicold unveils India’s first four-way shuttle ASRS frozen facility, advancing cold chain automation and sustainability.

Indicold has inaugurated its second fully automated frozen warehouse in Detroj, Gujarat, expanding its leadership in cold chain innovation. The facility introduces India’s first four-way shuttle ASRS system in the frozen segment, enabling higher adaptability, retrofitting options, and efficient space utilisation — a breakthrough in modern warehousing.
This launch follows the success of Indicold’s Dholasan-based 7,500+ pallet facility, India’s first fully automated frozen ASRS warehouse. The new 10,000+ pallet site features precision -20°C control, energy-efficient design, and integrated WMS for real-time visibility, aligning with national goals under PM Gati Shakti and global sustainability targets set at COP28.
The launch event, Indicold NXT, brought together industry leaders in food, dairy, and pharma supply chains. Inaugurated by senior bureaucrat KK Jalan, the event emphasised collaboration and future-forward infrastructure. Founders Kartik and Niharika Jalan emphasised Indicold’s vision to blend innovation, care, and community development in every project.
Beyond capacity expansion, the facility generates upskilling opportunities in automation and tech, offering a modern workforce ecosystem. Indicold’s initiative is already inspiring similar projects nationwide, pushing the boundaries of India’s cold chain capabilities.
