Gujarat CM Patel reviews the progress of Dholera Smart City, Tata Electronics plant, and airport development in a ₹1,350 crore project.

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel visited Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR) to review the development of the Dholera Smart City project and the plans for transforming the region into a Semicon City. This initiative is part of the state’s vision to establish Dholera as a hub for semiconductor manufacturing, with national and international semiconductor companies already in the process of setting up operations.
The CM’s review also focused on key infrastructure projects in the region. Dholera Smart City, being developed under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, features world-class infrastructure, including completed facilities like the 300 MW solar park, water treatment plant, sewage treatment plant, common effluent treatment plant, and ICT infrastructure.
With 95% of the Ahmedabad-Dholera Expressway completed, connectivity to the region has significantly improved. Infrastructure for roads, underground utilities, and plug-and-play infrastructure has been successfully implemented. Ongoing projects, including the Bhimnath-Dholera freight railway line, a 192-bed hospital, a school up to Class 12, a fire station, and residential facilities for investors, were also reviewed by the CM.
Ambrish Parajiya, Managing Director of GAP Group, expressed excitement about Dholera’s transformation, noting that it would become one of India’s top industrial clusters. His group is contributing by developing world-class township projects to accommodate the growing industrial activity in Dholera.
During the visit, Patel also reviewed the progress of the Tata Electronics semiconductor plant being set up in Dholera Semicon City, meeting with Tata officials to assess the progress of construction.
Patel further visited the Dholera International Airport, where ongoing work on the cargo building, terminal, and runway is being carried out at an estimated cost of ₹1,350 crore. These developments are key to establishing Dholera as a crucial logistics hub.
The CM’s visit underscores Gujarat’s commitment to accelerating Dholera’s growth as an industrial and logistics powerhouse, with a focus on sustainable infrastructure, cutting-edge technology, and the semiconductor industry.
