DHL Air Austria has achieved a significant milestone by conducting the maiden flight of its first Boeing 767 freighter. The cargo airline was established to manage European cargo flights, with a fleet plan including 18 Boeing 757Fs and about 176 pilots. DHL Air Austria’s journey began in November 2021, when it obtained its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) and Operating License (OL).
The initial flight of the Boeing 767 freighter, registered as OE-LYA, signifies the start of a new era for the airline, serving DHL’s European network. All 18 freighters are now in operation after being transferred from DHL Express’ UK business, allowing DHL Air UK to focus on expanding its intercontinental airline operations.
