Civil Aviation Ministry halts air cargo at Vijayawada, Tirupati airports

The Ministry of Civil Aviation has decided to discontinue air cargo services at Vijayawada and Tirupati airports, including the Common User Domestic Air Cargo Terminal (CUDCT) following the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security’s directive. Outbound domestic air cargo operations in Tirupati were halted at the request of the Air Cargo Regulated Agent.

However, Vijayawada and Tirupati airports have been asked to submit a proposal for self-handling by M/s InterGlobe Aviation(Indigo). Meanwhile, Visakhapatnam airport’s cargo operations continue as usual. Additionally, the civil aviation ministry has given in-principle approval to develop Bhogapuram airport as a greenfield airport, signaling a commitment to enhance aviation infrastructure in the region.
