Bihar ramps up efforts to enhance exports, with a focus on making key districts major export hubs and boosting e-commerce.

Bihar is witnessing significant export growth, and the government is committed to further boosting e-commerce exports, said Darbhanga Divisional Commissioner Manish Kumar. At a workshop in Darbhanga, officials and industry experts discussed strategies to strengthen exports from Madhubani, Jhanjharpur, Darbhanga, Samastipur, and Dalsingsarai.
The state’s exports have surged from ₹5,781 crore in 2013-14 to ₹16,645 crore in 2023-24, marking a 187 percent increase. The government has set an ambitious target of $200 billion in exports by 2030. Currently ranked 18th among Indian states, Bihar aims to climb higher through policy support, infrastructure improvements, and financial incentives.
Officials introduced exporters to various initiatives, including the e-BRC policy and e-Connect portal. The workshop focused on addressing challenges, promoting regional industries, and expanding access to global markets, positioning Bihar as a key player in India’s export landscape.
