Ayodhya International Airport, officially known as Maryada Purushottam Shriram International Airport, is on track to launch domestic flights in November. According to the airport director, Vinod Kumar, the first phase of construction is expected to conclude by October, with the terminal building currently at 25 percent completion.
The 2,200-meter runway is already in place, and future phases will extend it to accommodate international flights. After completing the terminal building in October, the airport authority will apply for flight commencement permission from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The airport, situated on 821 acres, will initially offer flights to Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad, with international routes coming later. Land acquisition for the project is nearing completion, ensuring ample space and funding for this ambitious endeavor.
