Celebi India announced on December 13 that it has submitted its acceptance to the Airport Director at the Airport Authority of India, Chennai, and has begun fulfilling the requirements to begin services. Celebi will provide scheduled and non-scheduled airlines with complete ground handling support at domestic and international terminals.
“We understand the needs of the airlines and the growing aviation industry in India, and we are well equipped to meet current and future airline and passenger traffic,” said Murali Ramachandran, CEO of Celebi India. “We will provide much-needed quality ground handling services at Chennai Airport while also developing a sustainable ecosystem to help the aviation industry achieve its larger goal of becoming carbon neutral in the near future.” After Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Cochin, Ahmedabad, Goa (Manohar International Airport, Mopa), and Kannur, Chennai is Celebi’s ninth airport in India. Celebi recently won the contract for bridge-mounted equipment services at Bengaluru International Airport and introduced 100 per cent electric, air-conditioned tarmac coaches for passenger transportation at Delhi International Airport.
