Allcargo Group conducts various activities at its skill development centers in Mumbai to raise awareness about women’s health and rights.
Allcargo Group, a prominent logistics conglomerate, organised a series of initiatives at its skill development centers in Mumbai to prioritise the health and well-being of women. These efforts included health check-up camps and social awareness programs aimed at recognising women’s achievements and fostering support for gender equality.
At the Allcargo Skill Development Training Centre in Dhamni, Panvel, an eye check-up camp was held in collaboration with Sankalp Manav Vikas Sanstha and Saad Foundation, benefiting 136 women from local communities. Free eye glasses were distributed, and further medical guidance was provided to those in need.
Additionally, a special session at the Belapur center focused on critical issues like acid attacks and domestic violence. Alka Patil, Assistant Police Inspector from the Mumbai Police, emphasised the importance of empowering women through education and self-defense training.
A rally at the Ishwar Nagar center in Navi Mumbai aimed to raise awareness on women’s rights and gender equality. Simultaneously, health check-ups and distribution of sanitary pads were organised, with healthcare guidance provided to teenage girls and women.
The Allcargo Women Empowerment and Livelihood Skill Development Training Centre in Bokadvira, Uran, Navi Mumbai, conducted a breast cancer screening camp in collaboration with Niramay Health Care Foundation, along with awareness sessions on diseases like tuberculosis.
Dr. Nilratan Shende, Head of CSR at Allcargo Group, reiterated the company’s commitment to women’s empowerment, citing it as a pivotal factor in societal and economic development. He emphasised the importance of such initiatives in integrating women into the nation’s growth trajectory, aligning with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
