A 308-wheel truck carrying a 200-tonne vessel from Belgium is moving through UP at 10 to 20 km a day, headed for a biopolymer plant in Lakhimpur Kheri.

A 308-wheel trailer carrying a Belgian-made vessel for Balrampur Chini Mills’ biopolymer plant has reached Chandauli in Uttar Pradesh, having crossed Odisha, Jharkhand and Bihar on its way from Paradip Port to Kumbhi in Lakhimpur Kheri. The cargo is put at about 164 tonnes in police figures and widely reported as 200 tonnes, and transporter J.M. Baxi Heavy is moving it at 10 to 20 kilometres a day.
At that pace, every clearance becomes a project decision. Three foot overbridges around Varanasi, along with highway signs, billboards and overhead power lines, have had to be lifted or cleared, and a foot overbridge in Bihar’s Kaimur district was also reportedly removed. The convoy then sat halted in Chandauli for two days over narrow, low-clearance roads, and logistics manager Anek Bharti told Aaj Tak on 28 September that arrival was two to three weeks away.
The vessel is bound for what trade reports describe as India’s first sugar-based polylactic acid plant, an 80,000 tonnes per annum facility whose capital cost was revised in April from Rs 2,850 crore to Rs 3,080 crore, citing higher construction material prices, supply chain disruption and design changes. An August report put the start-up in October 2026. For project cargo, the road itself is often part of the engineering.
