Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat presented the Bharat Prawaas Awards 2026 on the second day of Prawaas 5.0, recognising 72 winners across India’s public transport sector.

The second day of Prawaas 5.0 in Gandhinagar on July 11, 2026, was marked by the presentation of the Bharat Prawaas Awards 2026 by Acharya Devvrat, Governor of Gujarat, recognising outstanding achievements across India’s public transport sector.
The awards honoured a total of 72 winners across two platforms: the BOCI Excellence Awards, which recognised 50 organisations and individuals across diverse industry categories, and the redBus People’s Choice Awards, which celebrated 22 winners based on public recognition. The awards recognised transport operators, manufacturers, technology providers, innovators and industry leaders for contributions to innovation, operational excellence, sustainability, safety and customer service. redBus served as the Awards Partner, with its Chief Executive Officer Prakash Sangam present at the ceremony.
Earlier in the day, the conference programme, co-hosted by AbhiBus, was inaugurated by Aloke Bajpai, Group Chief Executive Officer of ixigo, and Rajender Kumar, Commissioner of the Transport Department, Government of Gujarat. The conference featured sessions on bus policy reforms, school bus electrification, women in mobility, bus electrification challenges, toll policy frameworks, mobility startups and the future mobility stack, bringing together policymakers, industry leaders and transport operators. The exhibition at Prawaas 5.0 showcased innovations across original equipment manufacturers, electric vehicles, energy storage and charging, smart mobility and fleet management and technology and digital solutions. Prawaas 5.0 is hosted by the Akhil Gujarat Pravasi Vahan Sanchalak Mahamandal and curated by MM Activ Sci-Tech Communications Private Limited, under the theme “Towards Safe, Smart and Sustainable Passenger Mobility.”
