Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad is considering a dedicated road network to separate General Aviation (GA) and VIP movement from regular commercial passenger traffic, as a major infrastructure revamp gets underway for the construction of a new integrated terminal building.

A new internal road has been proposed to connect the airport campus on the Meghaninagar side with Dafnala Circle, aimed at reducing congestion near the terminal. A site near the existing GSEC cargo terminal is under consideration for the relocation of the GA and GujSail terminals.
The proposed shift is expected to free up significant space for expanded terminal infrastructure, addressing the growing pressure on the airport’s existing layout as passenger volumes rise and development activity intensifies across the campus.
Once finalised, a dedicated road corridor linking the relocated terminals to Dafnala is being considered as part of the broader plan, signalling a more structured approach to traffic management at one of western India’s busiest aviation gateways.
