Kempegowda International Airport posts strong FY 2025–26 growth on the back of surging international traffic and steady cargo gains.

Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru (BLR Airport) closed FY 2025–26 with robust performance across all key segments, handling 44.47 million passengers and 532,000 metric tonnes of cargo for the year.
Overall passenger traffic rose 6.2% year-on-year, underpinned by a sharp 23.9% surge in international travellers to 7.23 million and a steady 3.3% rise in domestic passengers to 37.24 million.
The airport also recorded 280,800 air traffic movements during the year, a 4.5% increase over the previous year, with a single-day peak of 837 movements and a record 139,111 passengers handled in one day.
Transfer traffic emerged as a notable growth driver, rising approximately 22% year-on-year and accounting for around 15.7% of total passenger traffic. International transfers expanded at over 50%, signalling significant long-term potential.
BLR Airport expanded its global connectivity through the addition of new destinations including Hanoi and Riyadh, alongside increased frequencies on routes such as London Heathrow, Bangkok, Munich and Mauritius. The domestic network also welcomed new sectors including Navi Mumbai, Jaisalmer, Bidar, Silchar and Dimapur.
On the cargo front, the airport handled 532,000 metric tonnes, up 6% year-on-year, supported by 15 cargo airlines operating across 38 destinations. BLR Airport retained its position as India’s leading gateway for perishable exports for the fifth consecutive year, handling approximately 60 million rose stems with volumes up 38% and tonnage rising 64%. Mango exports reached a five-year high, growing 12% year-on-year, while coriander volumes increased 13% over the same period. The commissioning of the AISATS BLR Logistics Park further bolstered cargo capacity and processing capabilities.
