Digital goods transport platform Porter has expanded its footprint to eight new cities across six states, strengthening its national network and enhancing logistics support for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
The company has launched operations in Mysore (Karnataka), Madurai (Tamil Nadu), Jabalpur and Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh), Meerut and Agra (Uttar Pradesh), Aurangabad (Maharashtra), and Thrissur (Kerala).
As part of its initial rollout, Porter has introduced two-wheeler logistics services designed to navigate narrow lanes, congested markets, and dense commercial zones, key challenges in many Tier II and Tier III cities. The company plans to expand its fleet by adding three-wheelers and Tata Ace vehicles in the coming months, enabling broader service capabilities. The expansion is aimed at addressing persistent gaps in unorganised transport systems, including limited scalability, inconsistent service reliability, and lack of structured customer support. Through its digital, on-demand platform, Porter offers MSMEs streamlined logistics solutions, including GST-compliant billing and documentation, helping businesses reduce operational costs and improve efficiency.
The newly added cities are significant regional economic hubs with a strong MSME presence. Industries such as textiles, light manufacturing, engineering goods, handicrafts, sports goods, leather, and automobile components dominate these markets, all of which depend heavily on reliable intracity logistics.
According to Ankit Dwivedi, Vice President – Expansion at Porter, the move aligns with the company’s strategy to strengthen logistics infrastructure in emerging urban centres. He noted that MSMEs in these regions often face disruptions due to fragmented supply chains and infrastructure constraints, making dependable logistics services critical for growth. This expansion marks a significant step in Porter’s mission to digitise and streamline goods transport, particularly in underserved markets, while enabling MSMEs to scale and compete more effectively in a rapidly evolving economic landscape.
