US envoy Sergio Gor confirms India will join the Pax Silica tech alliance next month to secure AI and chip supply chains.

United States Ambassador-designate Sergio Gor has confirmed that New Delhi will be formally invited to join Pax Silica in February 2026. This American-led initiative aims to establish a resilient global supply chain for artificial intelligence and semiconductor technology.
During an address on 12th January 2026, the envoy emphasised that India is an essential partner in building secure networks for advanced manufacturing and critical minerals.
The inclusion of India in this strategic framework follows earlier diplomatic friction regarding its initial exclusion. By joining existing members such as Japan, South Korea, and the United Kingdom, India will become a core participant in a logistics and energy input network designed to safeguard high-tech industries.
While broader trade negotiations remain complex, the focus on tech-specific supply chains signals a shift towards deeper industrial integration between the two nations. This move is intended to ensure that vital components for future technologies are sourced through stable and innovation-driven corridors.
