The new weekly export cargo train from Ichhapuri to Mundra Port promises faster, reliable, and cost-effective movement for exporters.

Indian Railways has unlocked a new milestone in freight logistics with the launch of the Niryat Cargo Express, a time-bound, export-focused container rail service running from Ichhapuri Container Terminal, Gurugram, to Mundra Port. This is the first assured double-stack container train service from Ichhapuri, announced on 19 December 2025.
The launch brings relief and momentum to exporters, offering a weekly, assured transit system that promises faster, reliable, and predictable goods movement to one of India’s key maritime gateways. The service operates as a crack train, ensuring minimal halts and uninterrupted movement to significantly cut transit time and logistics costs, especially crucial for high-value cargo.
This development follows the success of 20 earlier export-focused trips operated from Garhi, Gurugram, signalling a steady push towards efficient rail-based export logistics. With this expansion, the Delhi Division of Northern Railway has strengthened its promise of reliable freight movement and greater support for India’s export ecosystem.
Exporters can now look forward to a smoother supply chain journey, right from Ichhapuri to Mundra, driven by speed, certainty, and cost efficiency.
