The Ministry of Steel will conduct an open house on October 27 in New Delhi to address steel import issues and streamline discussions.

In a proactive step to address industry concerns, the Ministry of Steel (India) has announced an Open House session on October 27, 2025, focusing on issues related to the import of steel. The session will be held in the Steel Room, Udyog Bhavan, New Delhi, from 12:00 noon to 6:00 pm.
The initiative aims to provide a structured platform for companies and industry associations to raise concerns and seek clarity on key matters such as SIMS, NOC, and QCO procedures. Each organisation will be allotted a specific time slot to present their issues directly to the Ministry.
Participation will be strictly through prior registration. Interested companies and associations must send their requests to tech-steel[at]nic[dot]in by 11:00 am on October 24, 2025, to secure a confirmed slot. Walk-in participation will not be permitted due to logistical constraints, and each organisation will be allowed only one representative to ensure broad-based engagement.
Participants are required to include the following details in their email:
- Name of the Company/Association
- Nature of the issue (SIMS/NOC/QCO/Others)
- Name and designation of the participant (no third-party representation allowed)
- SIMS/NOC application reference, if applicable
- Industry and product type (Auto, Aerospace, Telecom, Defence, etc.)
- Brief description of the issue (within 50 words)
- Contact details of the nodal person (mobile and email)
This Open House reflects the Ministry’s continued efforts to streamline import processes, address bottlenecks, and ensure transparent communication with the steel-consuming industries. By engaging stakeholders directly, the Ministry aims to strengthen policy responsiveness and support the sector’s growth trajectory.
