Naidu outlines multi-modal cargo strategy, maritime policy updates, and satellite townships for economic growth.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has unveiled plans to transform the state into a central hub for multi-modal cargo transport through the creation of a dedicated logistics corporation. The body will manage cargo movement across sea, air, road, rail, and inland waterways, ensuring integrated and efficient operations for the state and neighbouring regions.
In a review meeting on industries and infrastructure, Naidu announced the development of 20 ports and multiple new airports, with surrounding satellite townships designed to spur regional growth. These projects will be linked to national highways, rail networks, and inland waterways to enhance connectivity.
The Chief Minister also called for revisions to the state’s Maritime Policy to attract investments in ports, ship-building units, inland waterways, and cruise terminals, while safeguarding fishermen’s livelihoods. Locations for ship-building facilities in Machilipatnam, Moolapeta, and Chinaganjam are under consideration.
Naidu urged swift progress on Kuppam and Dagadarthi airports and emphasized container port development to avoid past losses, framing these initiatives as key engines for Andhra Pradesh’s industrial and economic expansion.
