The Kolkata summit united government, industry, and MSMEs to modernise railways for a sustainable, future-ready network.

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), in partnership with Indian Railways, the Ministry of MSME, Government e-Marketplace (GeM), and Kolkata Metro Rail Corporation, hosted the Rail Synergy Summit 2025 on August 7, 2025, under the theme “Empowering Railways: B2B, B2G, MSME & Industry Synergies & Sourcing for a Sustainable Future.”
Senior officials from the Ministry of Railways, PSU heads, and zonal railway representatives engaged with industry leaders, MSMEs, and startups to align railway modernisation with the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision. Discussions covered electrification, freight corridors, station upgrades, AI-based predictive maintenance, and green financing.
The Vendor Connect Program facilitated over 250 B2B and B2G meetings, vendor registrations, and technical trials, while the Rail Product Exposition showcased innovations in rolling stock, signalling, and energy efficiency.
CII announced plans to present policy recommendations to the Ministry and establish a Railway Industry Council for Eastern India, reinforcing continuous collaboration and technology adoption.
