The Civil Aviation Minister highlights PM Modi’s vision to expand drone operations significantly, emphasising women’s training initiatives.
Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi aims to expand India’s drone operations from the current 27,000 to an ambitious 1 lakh. This announcement came during the inauguration of the Drone Summit in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh, which aims to foster collaboration and innovation in the drone industry.
Minister Kinjarapu emphasised the Union government’s commitment to this vision, highlighting a special program designed to provide drone training for women, specifically targeting support in agriculture. “PM Modi’s vision is to enhance drone operations in the country to 1 lakh. The initiative will not only empower women but also bolster the agricultural sector,” he stated.
He expressed aspirations for Andhra Pradesh to emerge as the world’s drone hub, noting that Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has been proactive in discussing drone operations and airport development within the state. “Chandrababu Naidu is always focused on the future of the state and the younger generation,” Kinjarapu said.
The Amaravati Drone Summit, organised by the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation in collaboration with the Andhra Pradesh Drones Corporation, takes place on October 22 and 23. The summit aims to bring together stakeholders from various sectors to discuss investment opportunities in areas such as agriculture and water resource management.
Key participants include government officials and industry leaders in drone manufacturing, services, and technology development. The summit seeks to explore cutting-edge advancements and emerging trends that will shape the future of drone technology in India.
Minister Kinjarapu praised Naidu’s previous successes, including his vision that transformed Hyderabad into a world-class city, highlighting the leadership’s commitment to adopting the latest technologies for the country’s and state’s development.
