Capt. Alpesh Abhay Sharma joins JM Baxi as COO to lead container business growth.
JM Baxi Group has announced the appointment of Capt. Alpesh Abhay Sharma as Chief Operating Officer for its Container Business, starting June 10, 2024. Capt. Sharma brings over 33 years of industry expertise to this role, where he will focus on driving the company’s next growth phase.
With the global container shipping industry evolving due to technological advancements and changing trade patterns, JM Baxi Group is dedicated to innovation and agility. Capt. Sharma’s extensive experience will be crucial in leveraging new opportunities.
Capt. Sharma’s career includes nearly 13 years with DP World, where he held key positions such as CEO for NSICT, CEO for LCIT Terminals in Thailand, and VP Commercial (Ports and Terminals) for South East Asia. He also held leadership roles at Maersk Line (India) and OOCL (India) as Country Head for Operations.
Reporting to Group Managing Director Dhruv Kotak, Capt. Sharma will oversee the National Sales Head and container terminals, including ICD, CPS, and Rail operations. His expertise in container terminal operations and the commercial landscape will guide strategic initiatives to sustain JM Baxi’s industry leadership.
