Adani Airport Holdings is set to assume complete management of the Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) as its joint management term with MIA concludes this month. The lease agreement for the airport spans 50 years, with a three-year joint management agreement that began in October 2020 when Adani secured the concession to operate and develop MIA.
According to officials, the transition to full Adani Group management is scheduled for October 31, except for select operations. Some staff from the Airports Authority of India (AAI) will be replaced by Adani personnel in the transition. A substantial portion of the AAI personnel have transferred to other airports across India, with certain sections such as air traffic control remaining under AAI.
